Remedy Entertainment is in talks with Microsoft to make a remaster of Alan Wake and possibly Alan Wake: American Nightmare that might to coming to the Xbox One. This ball started rolling when Microsoft conducted a survey asking gamers if they would be interested in a remastered version of Alan Wake by insinuating a free download of the game if they were to pre-order Microsoft's upcoming exclusive - Quantum Break. Nothing is confirmed, though. This is all just speculation. The only thing we know for sure is that Remedy Entertainment is hard at work trying to make Quantum Break an impressive IP.
In an interview with Polygon, Remedy Creative Director, Sam Lake, said, "I would love that to happen. Nothing has hapened yet, but we are discussing the possibility with Microsoft. I hope it happens. We'll see."
When asked if the game would also be making an appearance on the PlayStation 4 and Wii U, Lake said that it is "highly unlikely". But the good news is that the developer hasn't ruled out the possibility of Alan Wake 2, which it might start after the release of Quantum Break in 2016. Lake also revealed that if the game were to happen, it will probably be released across multiple platforms and not be confined to Xbox and PC alone.
"Ultimately, these things are business decisions. We are definitely not ruling anything out and looking at different opportunities, but nothing is set in stone at the moment", Sam added.
The developer also teased 13 minutes of prototype demo of Alan Wake 2 (which you can check down below) and that gives me hope.
What do you think? Would you like a remaster or are you leaning towards a sequel? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
